TravelPass

TravelPass provides you with unlimited travel on a weekly, quarterly or annual basis on Newcastle Buses & Ferries, and CityRail services.

Weekly TravelPass tickets are activated on the first use and last for seven days. (They are active upon purchase from CityRail outlets).

Quarterly and annual tickets start from the date you nominate.

• Quarterly provides 3 months of travel for the cost of 11 weekly tickets (15% discount off the weekly price)
• Annually provides 1 year of travel for the price of 40 weekly tickets (23% discount off the weekly price)

All TravelPass tickets are valid until 4am the following morning of the expiry date.

Ideal Use

TravelPass tickets are ideal if you:

• are a frequent traveller
• use a combination of transport modes (bus/train/ferry) to reach your destination.

Benefits

• Save money – unlimited travel means the more you travel, the cheaper each trip becomes.
• One ticket for use on buses, trains and ferries.
• If a weekly ticket is purchased/used after 3pm, you get your seven days, plus the rest of that day, Free!
• The ability to purchase weekly TravelPass tickets in bulk from selected agents.

Which TravelPass do I need?

TravelPass tickets are colour-coded depending on the zones covered and the modes of transport used. There are three types of TravelPass available in the Newcastle area. View the map and descriptions below to determine the best ticket for you.

Orange TravelPass

A bus and ferry ticket for unlimited travel and transfers on all Newcastle Buses and Ferries services.

Green TravelPass

A bus, ferry and train ticket with unlimited transfers on all Newcastle Buses and Ferries services and CityRail services in the Newcastle area bounded by Telarah, Awaba and Toronto.

Limitations

TravelPasses cannot be used:

• On Newcastle Buses & Ferries special event services
• On private bus company services

How to use a TravelPass

• On Newcastle Buses & Ferries, insert your ticket into the green machine on the bus.
• On CityRail trains, insert the ticket into the automatic gates. Where there are no gates, show the ticket to the CityRail attendant.

The expiry date will print on the reverse side and the ticket is valid until 4am the morning after the expiry date.
