Bus Operator Positions

Newcastle Buses and Ferries has approximately 350 staff who provide bus services over a large part of the cities of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie and ferry services across Newcastle Harbour and Stockton.
Newcastle Buses has a fleet of approximately 170 buses and operates 29 routes from two depots located at Hamilton and Belmont.

Paid training is provided right from day one. Bus Operators are employed on a traineeship program leading to the award of Certificate III in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport). Once the traineeship is completed there are many and varied opportunities awaiting you.
State Transit provides extensive paid in-house training programs to prepare employees for future promotional opportunities and for implementation of new technology. Promotional opportunities exist in a diverse range of areas such as rostering, scheduling, service planning, depot operations management, customer service, finance and administration, Bus Operator training and safety and accident prevention.
